DETROIT, March 28, 2026 – Organizers of No Kings Detroit today announced the speaker lineup for this afternoon’s mass mobilization at Grand Circus Park, bringing together local leaders, organizers, and advocates from across Southeast Michigan. Thousands are expected to gather in the heart of the city to defend democracy and demand accountability.
The rally will begin at 3 p.m. at Grand Circus Park (101 Witherell Street), followed by a march up Woodward Avenue.
The rally will feature voices from movements fighting for voting rights, immigrant justice, racial justice, labor rights, and constitutional accountability, underscoring a broad, coalition-driven response to the Trump regime and its ongoing attacks on American democracy.
Confirmed speakers include:
- Angela Davenport, executive director, Voting Access for All Coalition
- Audrey Bourriaud, founder, We the People Dissent
- Brandice Mullen, vice president and Michigan state director, SEIU Local 1
- Kristen, organizer, Asamblea Popular
- Reverend Paul Perez, Central United Methodist Church – Detroit
- Tristan Taylor, co-founder, Detroit Will Breathe
“No Kings Detroit is about bringing people together across movements to demand accountability and defend our democracy,” said Sean S., an organizer of No Kings Detroit and co-founder of OF/BY/FOR, a member of the No Kings Detroit coalition. “Today’s speakers represent the strength and urgency of that coalition at a critical moment for our country and our democracy.”
The event is part of the third nationwide wave of No Kings actions, with organizers calling for sustained public engagement beyond mass mobilizations and continued pressure on elected officials.
