Wall of Shame

Perhaps they should take some of their own advice and get a job? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Do Not Engage

Known Agitators and Provocateurs

Large public demonstrations often attract individuals who are not there to participate in good faith. Some show up specifically to harass, intimidate, provoke confrontation, or create chaos so that peaceful demonstrations can be discredited.

The far-right, anti-American, paid agitators listed below have repeatedly appeared at protests and political events across the country—including in Metro Detroit—attempting to provoke conflict, spread extremist rhetoric, or insert themselves into movements they fundamentally oppose.

They actively seek attention, confrontation, and viral moments online. Do not give it to them.

If you encounter any of these individuals at the March 28 demonstration:

The goal of these agitators is simple: create a spectacle and derail the message of the event. The best response is discipline, solidarity, and refusal to participate in their games.

Wall of Shame

Individuals to Watch Out For

These agitators attempt to present themselves as “independent journalists” or members of the media in order to approach attendees and provoke confrontations on camera. In reality, their goal is to bait participants into arguments and capture footage that can be edited or shared online to misrepresent the event and/or individual. Legitimate media and approved influencers covering the event will be clearly identifiable by No Kings Detroit press credentials. Attendees are encouraged not to answer questions from uncredentialed individuals claiming to be media and to remain focused on the purpose of the demonstration.

Andre "Folded Like a Chair" Williams

Andre Williams is a Michigan-based, far-right political “influencer” who frequently shows up at protests and demonstrations organized by groups whose goals he openly opposes. He often trails behind higher-profile far-right activists—appearing at the same events and inserting himself into their orbit—but also shows up on his own at demonstrations around the Metro Detroit area and country.

Williams has developed a reputation among organizers as a serial protest disruptor who attempts to provoke arguments with participants while filming interactions for social media. His appearances typically follow the same pattern: show up uninvited, insert himself into crowds, antagonize demonstrators and try to turn peaceful events into content.

Branden "On the Scene" Gutenschwager

A far-right influencer who operates under the name “BG On The Scene,” Branden Gutenschwager presents himself as an independent journalist but has built a large following by embedding himself in politically charged confrontations and amplifying right-wing narratives. His content regularly goes viral, and many people—often unknowingly—follow and engage with his work believing it to be neutral coverage. In reality, Gutenschwager consistently shows up alongside far-right agitators, filming protests and distributing footage across platforms where it is frequently weaponized against activists. He was present in Washington, D.C. on January 6, 2021, and has continued traveling to demonstrations nationwide, including in Michigan. Like others in this network, he is not legitimate press—he is a far-right, anti-American agitator using a camera as cover.

Chadwick "Second Time's the Charm" Twillman

Chadwick Twillman is a Michigan-based far-right “activist” and failed Republican candidate for the Michigan State Senate. He publicly participated in the January 6, 2021, assault on the U.S. Capitol and is currently running for Michigan’s 35th Senate District, where he previously lost in the Republican primary.

Like others in this circle, Twillman has built an online brand around provocation, grievance politics and attention-seeking confrontation. His campaign and social media presence lean heavily on inflammatory rhetoric, and he has shown up in the orbit of the same far-right agitators and protest disruptors already listed on this page.

Gregor "Ferret Face" Butzow

Gregor Butzow is a Michigan-based, Neo-Nazi “activist,” political “influencer,” and broccoli head who has been observed at protests in Metro Detroit, as well as traveling to demonstrations outside his home state.

At demonstrations, Butzow often attempts to provoke participants or disrupt organizers while documenting interactions on video. Like others in this circle, his goal appears to be creating dramatic online content by inserting himself into events where he is neither invited nor welcomed.

Jacob "Bottle Blonde" Gingrich

A Michigan-based far-right agitator who presents himself as an “independent” documentarian and “supporter,” Jacob Gingrich is best understood as part of the same ecosystem as Jake Lang, Andre Williams, Jayden Scott, and Gregor Butzow, frequently appearing alongside them with a camera in hand. Gingrich attempts to blend in as neutral media, but his presence consistently aligns with disruptive, confrontational activity at protests, where he films, provokes, and amplifies far-right narratives. He has been identified engaging with pro-ICE rhetoric online and has been called out by multiple community members for showing up to actions under false pretenses. Like others in this network, Gingrich is not legitimate press—he is a far-right, anti-American agitator using a camera as cover.

Jake "Complete Phishing Hoax" Lang

Jake Lang is a far-right, Neo-Nazi “activist” and “influencer” from Florida best known for participating in the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, where he was convicted of assaulting police officers with a baseball bat during the riot, and public beastiality.

Since his pardon and release from prison, Lang has traveled around the country—including to Metro Detroit—staging inflammatory demonstrations and inserting himself into protests he openly opposes, usually filming confrontations for online audiences. He has also organized provocative rallies around immigration and religion and has promoted extremist rhetoric and strange antics like humping live goats at public events.

Jayden "Unemployed" Scott

Jayden Scott is a Michigan-based, Neo-Nazi “activist” and online provocateur who has appeared at protests across the Midwest and beyond attempting to antagonize demonstrators and create viral confrontation videos.

You may recognize Scott from a widely circulated video recorded at a protest in Minneapolis following the murder of Renee Good, where he approached demonstrators and shouted “We executed one of you yesterday.” The incident led Scott to step down from a position he had publicly claimed to hold at a Michigan health care investment firm.

Like others in this circle of agitators, Scott has developed a reputation for showing up at demonstrations he opposes, provoking arguments with participants and attempting to turn protests into online spectacle and confrontation content.

Long Story Short

Stay Focused on the Mission

The March 28 demonstration is about standing together as a community.

People who show up looking for confrontation want attention. They want arguments. They want viral moments. They do not deserve our time.

The most effective response is simple: Stay focused. Stay disciplined. Stay united.

Our message—and the thousands of people showing up to stand for their values—is far more powerful than any stunt or provocation.
