Pre-mobilization press conference: no kings, no war, no ICE

March 20, 2026

What

Non-partisan democracy advocates, Indivisible leaders, immigrant rights advocates, and interfaith leaders are increasing the volume and intensity of calls to protect elections, defund ICE, and oppose the rapidly escalating war in Iran as they organize for hundreds of thousands of Michiganders ready for the third No Kings protest this Saturday, March 28th. Demands to be delivered at No Kings will be clearly spelled out this Tuesday, and reinforced at the protest!

When

Tuesday March 24th, 2026, 11:00 AM EST

Where

Zoom press conference – registration required. Register here. Organizers will remove attendees not approved beforehand that are not clearly credentialed members of the press.

Who

Voting Access for All Coalition (VAAC), Indivisible leaders, Michiganders for Money Out of Politics, Immigrant-rights advocates, The Michigan Freedom Coalition, the Anti-Fascist Organizing Coalition, Of/By/For, The Removal Coalition and 14th Now!, and the Public Research Initiative

Why

The actions of Donald Trump and his regime are escalating, and this administration’s body count is growing. For months, political leaders have responded with carefully worded press releases while failing to use the authority of their offices to stop them. They are failing the people they represent. When democratic institutions, civil rights, and the very concept of the rule of law are under threat, this level of silence from Michigan’s elected leaders isn’t neutrality—it is complicity.

Michiganders are putting elected officials on notice ahead of this Saturday: defend the Constitution at all costs; protect the Michiganders brutalized by ICE; and champion fixes to this mess that build a society where everyone can thrive in the wake of what the Trump administration has destroyed.
